On Monday we went over to David Family to get on the bus. We had to wait for a bit but finally we got loaded on to the bus. It was a very long bus drive but it was fun. One of my missionary friends sat by me and Christina and me talked about books and movies. When we got there after eating lunch we got are tents set up and the we went down to Lake Victoria. All the David Family kids swam but I just played volleyball with some kids. The next day we went on a hike to the waterfall. That was very fun. After we got back we had a huge water fight. That was super super fun. The next day I was sick. It was quite disappointing. The kids went to swim in Lake Victoria again. The next day we went back. It was a very exciting and awesome trip! I was writing a story with three other boys. It had to be 3 to 5 pages long. Are story was about a boy living in mid-evil times. It was called the Recruit. It was very fun and although it took a lot of work. My sisters and there friend were the judges. In the end our story won the most intriguing plot and the second best overall. We went because my dad was doing accounts at Musana and Kobwin. First we went to Kobwin and stayed there for four days. It was fun seeing every one there. I had not been there for 6 months. I had fun climbing the rocks there and playing football with my friends at Kobwin. Then we drove over to Musana Camps. At Musana we went down to the beach there on Lake Victoria. That was also fun. We then went and stayed in Jinja a city on the Nile. We went for dinner there because it was Christina's birthday. We stayed in Jinja for two days. Then we came back home. In all it was a very very fun and exciting trip.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511162028253042548.post-28146235719862656252014-12-07T03:36:00.002-08:002014-12-07T03:36:36.671-08:00Garden

A few days ago Joseph (in the pictures) came and said that our sweet potatoes and are carrots that we planted in our garden were ready. So we went out to our garden and Joseph taught us how to harvest the sweet potatoes and carrots. It was really cool. In the pictures it shows our harvest. It was really awesome to see what I had planted. I think I will try planting them again.
I am so sorry I have not written a blog for a very long time. Yesterday the Americans invited us to their Thanksgiving celebration. They played football (or as we call it American football so we can distinguish it from soccer). After, we went over to the another house to eat desserts. At the house someone told the story of Thanksgiving. Then we ate desserts and drank soda. It was really fun. I got to ride back with my friends on the roof rack on top of their car! It was a very fun day.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511162028253042548.post-37661568624832785712014-06-25T23:11:00.000-07:002014-06-25T23:11:41.708-07:00Musana CampsYesterday we came back from the another New Hope site on Lake Victoria. I am sorry that I don't have any pictures but there is not much power there and we forgot to charge our camera before we left so it had no battery. It was a long 5 hour drive and there were huge ruts in the road so it felt like forever. When we finally got there at 8 at night we were pretty tired. But when we woke up on Sunday morning we looked out saw Lake Victoria. It was really beautiful. In the afternoon we hiked to a waterfall and climbed to the top of it. That was really cool. The next day we walked down to the beach. The beach was much different then it was a year and a half ago. It was really big. It was a long 5 hours to get there but it was worth it. I have been very busy. We went to the foreign staff retreat then I had my birthday and then my mom left to go to Canada for three weeks. All the rest of time I was trying to finish my school before my mom had to go back. But since I finished my school I found time to write a blog post. My Birthday will defiantly be one I will remember. It was the day we were going to the foreign staff retreat and we were having it in Jinja three hours away. We were supposed to leave a 9 but my dad had to have a meeting till 10. When we finally got on the road the phone rang. When my mom got off the phone she told us that are neighbours had stopped to get gas at Luwero a town 30 minutes from us and they had filled there car with diesel instead of petro. And since we live in Uganda they didn't now what to do. They finally decided that that they would take the whole tank out and take the diesel out. So after waiting for 2 hours with them we finally got on the road. After a long trip we finally got there. What a Birthday! That's all for now. I will write again as soon as I can. I also went with them. I was the only person in my family to go. We went on two game drives on the trip. On the first one we saw a lot of antelopes at first. Then we spotted a elephant. The guide said that because it was alone it meant that it had been poached. Then we saw a cut on its trunk. After we saw the elephant we saw two hyenas.
My best friend from Canada came to visit with his dad. His
cousin and her dad also came here too. My mom and dad came with me to pick them up. I wasn't tired when we went to the airport at 10:00 at night. I couldn't wait to show them everything at New Hope Uganda. When we finally got back I couldn't believe they were here.
It was are first time being there so there was lots to explore. Before we got there, there was a long 9 hour car trip. The Kobwin Children Centre is in east Uganda. On the way we bought gonja a roasted kind of banana and chicken on a stick for lunch. When we finally got there after we unloaded we went to Uncle Charles' house for dinner. Uncle Charles is the manger for Kobwin. While we were there I played with boys from the Family group there. We mostly climbed rocks. The rocks at Kobwin are huge.
On Thursday night we went to watch the woman's ice hockey gold medal game in the Olympics in Kiwoko (the local town near us) on a satellite TV. Our neighbours at New Hope went with us. The lady had played at Boston Collage and coached some of the players on the U.S. side. It was a amazing game! With 4 minutes left in the game the U.S. were winning 2-0 but we scored 2 goals and won the gold medal in overtime. It was a bit different though because we were sitting on plastic chairs on a dirt floor. It was a great experience.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511162028253042548.post-1343121418482872342014-02-14T23:20:00.002-08:002014-02-14T23:27:01.344-08:00Going swimming!

A few days ago we went swimming in Jinja for one of my friend's birthday. It was a long 3 hour drive to the swimming pool but it was very fun. I had not been swimming for half a year so I had somehow forgotten. After we waded for a while we had lunch. That was very yummy. After lunch we went down to see Lake Victoria (the city of Jinja is on it). That was also very cool. Then we went back to the swimming pool and played with a Frisbee. On Sundays my Mom and I go to Sunday school. My Mom teaches my Sunday School so she goes with me. Every year before everyone goes for holidays we have a Christmas Party. On that day all the classes show something to the other classes. This year my class did a skit about the prophesies of Jesus and how they came to pass. I was the narrator. After we were done we went to see what time it was. We were carrying our hoes on our bikes with one hand when I turned around the corner. My bike slid in the rocks and I fell off. I looked at my knee and blood was pouring out. My friend quickly stopped and helped me get to my house but nobody was there! I asked my friend to go to our neighbour's house to call my dad who had taken the car but right then my dad came driving up and helped me get clean and bandage my cuts up. There was a lot of food on one plate but I still finished it.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511162028253042548.post-78796833372243640652013-11-06T01:55:00.000-08:002013-11-10T22:03:04.300-08:00Burglar AlarmFor science in school I had to make a burglar alarm because I am learning about simple machines. We set it up by the front door of the new house we are living in. It had a shoe lace from the door to the curtain rod. The shoe lace attached to a box full of buttons. When you opened the door the buttons all spilled out on a cookie sheet. It worked really well some of the time.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511162028253042548.post-33437546123144188782013-08-24T01:38:00.000-07:002013-08-24T01:38:09.704-07:00WE'RE BACK !!!!!!I am just back to Uganda! We went to a cottage on Rice Lake with my Mom's relatives. We played soccer and volleyball but we didn't swim because there were weeds.
I'm glad to be back in Uganda.CRMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02141599132883554632noreply@blogger.com1
